ICQ.com's Web site has launched a new help system designed to be more
streamlined with a knowledge base, ticketing center, and message board.
With the knowledge base one can list through main topics such as password retrieval, and many of ICQ's features. The knowledge base is admittently like ICQ.com's old feature index, although this time the articles can be commented on and voted on (e.g., Was this article helpful to you?) I had to rate the "Avoid Spam" article a 1 for telling me to turn off receiving messages from users off my contact list, when the main source of spam on ICQ these days is the authorization requests that can be avoided by disabling Web Aware. The articles can also be searched and commented on. The ticket system seems to be a way to contact ICQ directly for technical support. Let's hope their responses aren't the "canned email" responses that ICQ was famous for in the past. The message board links to ICQ.com's popular "ICQ Expert Board" where technical problems are addressed directly. ICQ developers are known to visit these boards and post responses. Thanks to Nafcom for the news. -- View: ICQ Help Center |
ICQ.com
has released a database/history converter that will convert your old
history from clients 2000b and up into the new ICQ5 format so that you
can read your existing old history files in the new ICQ.
